The Raglan Rescue Team has set up a ‘War Chest fund’ to enable us to accept your donations.

We hope to raise as many funds as possible to be put towards the preservation of the Collection.

If you wish to help us in this way, please send a cheque (made payable to Raglan Rescue) to the following address:

Bettina Harden MBE, Nanhoron, Pwllheli, Gwynedd, LL53 8DL.

Please, please do help us by forwarding details of this website to everyone you know who might have an interest in saving this wonderful heritage for all of us.

Many thanks,

The Raglan Rescue Team

  • I should have mentioned that I have copies of the very kind and thoughtful letters of commiseration that Lord Raglan sent to my great great grandfather upon the death of my great grandfather’s younger brother, Frank John Curtis (Lieut. 46th Foot) in the Trenches of the Left Attack on 2nd May 1855. As the Commander of the Forces in the Eastern Army it has to be said that he was, perhaps, rather out of his depth for a variety of reasons but he was nevertheless and for all that a true gentleman in the better sense of the word and it is up to us to try to save his heritage.

  • It is no good sitting about waiting for somebody, anybody, to get moving so here, for my part, is a hundred quid and I sincerely hope that others will stir themselves to do the same or better if they can afford it.

This is so, so sad. Such a pretty house – and what a collection. If only you could have more time. Will rack my brains for anybody else that might be able to help you.
